The Bheri River is a mature river that cuts a wide valley as it flows west join the Karnali just before it cuts to through the Chure Hills, disgorges onto the plain of the tarai, and flows into Royal Bardia National Park.
Twenty years ago, The whole of this area was wind pristine jungle, roamed by one of the last nomadic hunting tribe in Nepal, the Route. There are a still a few of these Route tribe living by the river and although some of the jungle has been cleared for farming, for the majority of the time you will see only cliffs, forest and wildlife.
